Sandi Safro is Associate General Counsel, Energy and Technology Regulation at the Edison Electric Institute, the trade association that represents all U.S. investor-owned electric companies. Her work includes issues related to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission’s regulation of electricity and natural gas and issues related to the regulation of emerging clean energy technologies. Prior to joining EEI, Sandi was a partner in the energy practice of the global law firm K&L Gates, where she co-lead the firm’s global Hydrogen practice, including publication of The H2 Handbook. In addition, Sandi co-lead the firm’s global Oil, Gas, and Resources practice and advised clients on regulatory, commercial, and policy issues in the emerging hydrogen industry, as well as various issues related to the transportation of natural gas by pipeline in interstate commerce and liquefied natural gas. Sandi co-founded and co-leads the Women in Hydrogen networking group and also co-hosts the bi-weekly podcast, Hydrogen Rising.
