The port of Rotterdam is Europe’s largest sea port and facilitates a world class industry cluster. Randolf Weterings is responsible for leading the New Energy System program, the second pillar of the ports’ Energy Transition Strategy. Randolf is leading and initiator of several key projects and heading a multidisciplinary team related to renewables, electrification and hydrogen. The program represents a total investment value of +10 billion euro over 5 years (Port of Rotterdam and partners).
Projects included in the program (not limited to): Hydrogen import (liquid, Ammonia and LOHC), 2GW conversionpark on the Maasvlakte including the +200MW electrolyser projects, backbone infrastructure, upgrading the electricity grid, offshore wind landing and conversion.
