Deputy Minister of Energy, Miguel Lotero Robledo, is a lawyer from EAFIT University; He has a graduate degree in Administrative Law and a Master’s in Public Management, both from the Universidad de Los Andes (Colombia).
He is an expert in the design and implementation of public policies for the mining-energy sector. Lotero has more than 10 years of experience exercising leadership positions in public entities and private law firms. He joined the National Government in 2018 as an advisor to the former Deputy Minister of Energy and led the structuring of 2019 renewable energy auction. He was a member of the Boards of Directors of Gestión Energética SAESP (GENSA) and of the Electrificadora del Meta SAESP (EMSA), serving as Chairman of both Boards of Directors for several periods.
Before joining the Government, Lotero worked as partner associate of a local law firm, leading the practices of public utilities, infrastructure and public law, where he advised improtant public-private associations and transactions.
