Dr. Amgad Elgowainy is a senior scientist and distinguished fellow at Argonne National Laboratory. He leads the Electrification and Infrastructure Group that provides engineering process modeling, environmental life cycle analysis and techno-economic analysis of hydrogen energy systems, fuel infrastructure and vehicle technologies. Amgad has contributed to the development of the environmental life cycle analysis models (GREET®) since 2001 and has led the development of the hydrogen infrastructure technoeconomic suite of models (HDSAM, HRSAM and HDRSAM). These models are recognized by thousands of users globally. Dr. Elgowainy authored and coauthored more than 200 technical publications and developed several licensed patents related to hydrogen fueling methods. He received numerous government and industry awards. Dr. Elgowainy earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New York at Buffalo in 1994 and has taught many undergraduate and graduate engineering and environmental courses at University of Chicago, Purdue University Northwest, Tennessee State University, and University at Buffalo.
