Mr. Lindsay is Managing Director of the Energy Infrastructure Group within the Low Carbon Energy Solutions research division at GTI Energy where he oversees the organization’s research and development activities for technology concepts, products and services focused on ensuring a safe and reliable energy delivery infrastructure. His group innovates and advances energy transmission and distribution technologies, processes, and procedures concentrated on environmental matters, enabling the use of hydrogen and renewables; infrastructure rehabilitation and improvements; data and integrity management; risk evaluation modeling; and high-tech sensors and automation for the energy industry.
Mr. Lindsay has over thirty-nine (39) years of experience in the energy industry during which he spent time in both the natural gas regulated utility sector as well as technical consulting and new business enterprises. His experiences include gas distribution system engineering, planning, transmission pipeline design, aquifer underground storage station design and build, corrosion control, systems operations and maintenance, sales, marketing, and the start-up of an unregulated business venture, before moving on to research & development aspects of the energy industry.
Mr. Lindsay received a B.S. in Thermo-Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois and is a registered professional engineer in the state of Illinois. He has been active with the Illinois Alliance for Clean Transportation (formerly Chicago Area Clean Cities Coalition) since its inception in 1994 and has served on the board of directors and in various positions during his tenure.
