“I’m Laura Bergedieck I lead the Hydrogen Development team at RWE Clean Energy. One of the largest clean energy providers for solar and of storage.
As hydrogen developers we need to find the perfect mix of renewable energy supply, water availability and hydrogen offtake. The critical piece is offtake we have no inference on that so we would like to work closer with hydrogen users to then jointly develop projects and make them happen.
It has been great, great conversations, good engagement, a lot of interactions with different stakeholders, research firms, offtakers, EPCs, OEMs, developers, so very engaging. I particularly like the mix of panel discussions, a lot of room for networking and the tech stage that gives very targeted brief input, so lots of learnings and good conversations.
I met new people, which I think is critical to understand where we can act more in the industry outside of our current activities, so the networking piece was very fruitful here.
It’s particularly the mix of stakeholders here because it’s in D.C., so we have a lot of government input, research firms, plus the developers and all the value chain suppliers, and it’s a good mix to learn but also engage.”
